Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.

Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles

The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.

Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
