Heaton Park Synagogue Incident: One Victim Was Likely Fired Upon by Officers

During a tragic turn of events, a victims lost during the Manchester synagogue attack is believed to have been fatally wounded by armed police officers.

Official Statement Reveals Gunshot Wound

The senior officer from the local force announced that a forensic expert has provisionally determined the man succumbed to a gunshot wound.

“We sought guidance overnight from forensic specialists before full postmortem examinations set to occur later today. The expert indicated that he has provisionally determined a victim likely sustained a injury matching a firearm wound.”

Attacker Information

The assailant, a 35-year-old individual, did not have a firearm, and the only shots fired were by the police officers at the scene.

It is believed the deceased was among those behind the synagogue door seeking to prevent the assailant from entering the building.

Consequences of Police Action

“It follows therefore pending further forensic examination, this injury was unfortunately incurred as a tragic and unforeseen consequence of the urgently required action taken by our personnel to halt this brutal assault.”

Victims Identified

Both individuals killed in the attack during the synagogue incident in north Manchester on Thursday were identified as Adrian Daulby, aged 53 and 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz.

The men were killed when a car was used to crash through the property of the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue, then stabbed worshippers in a brief violent spree that ended only when police with firearms shot at him twice, ending his life at the door of the temple.

Additional Injuries

Three more people sustained major injuries in the violent act on the Day of Atonement, the most sacred occasion in the Jewish year.

The chief constable added, “Medical professionals have informed us that another injured person currently receiving treatment sustained a gunshot wound, which is mercifully not life threatening. It is believed both victims were near each other at the entrance, as attendees showed courage to stop the assailant from gaining entry.”

“We extend our condolences remain with all of the families, and the wider community, touched by this incident across Greater Manchester and beyond. Trained personnel are providing support and care for everyone involved, including the courageous emergency teams.”

Attacker Profile

Police named the perpetrator as the individual, thirty-five, a UK national of Syrian origin.

Greater Manchester police said that three additional individuals – two male suspects and an older female – had been arrested “for alleged involvement in planning of terrorist activities”.
