Indianapolis Colts Face Atlanta Falcons in German Capital – NFL Week 10
Hello, football enthusiasts. How are you? Alles klar I hope on this excellent early start to week 10 coming straight outta Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be precise where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Colts (7-2) take on the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on soil in Germany and the initial in the capital city.
Pre-match Key Moments
As sparkly jackets go that is an absolute belter from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.
So, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in their last game?
Not to be outdone the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. Loving the sartorial choices today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the German anthem. Classy.
Opening Period Action
Scoreless at 13:30 in the first
Here we go! And we have an exciting start after Jonathan Taylor catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right side then fumbles … only for his center to recover the fumble with the recovery. Colts are in Falcons territory already.
Still scoreless at 10:51
And the drama keeps coming as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver fails to catch a fastball from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they try and snap their string of three losses. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!
Touchdown Recap
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter
Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The tight end drops a clanger, he was very open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That moment reflects the high draft pick's professional journey to date.
So far, so disappointing but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard line. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and fumbles the football.
A nifty 22-yard run from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. The placekicker misses the point after attempt. Mistake.
Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07
Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. Drake London makes some chunky receptions to put them in the red zone then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. The running back finishes it off for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.
Other Tenth Week Games
Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:
(5-4) Panthers v Saints (1-8)
(5-3) Chicago Bears v Giants (2-7)

(4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

An exciting lineup. I’m planting my flag on the Vikings and Ravens playing out the top contest of the day.
