The former president's Granddaughter Receives Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance
The rising star boasts impressive social media presence
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile backers when she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses several international courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"He essentially suggested to go out there and enjoy myself," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments this year and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
Yet she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.
"He is the top athlete globally," Kai expressed.
"And he's a more impressive human being. He suggested me to compete, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face several the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that involving Kai helps introduce the sport to new audiences, specifically reaching younger fans.
The young star has a massive following and just introduced an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
