The Initial Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox continues to plan to draw people in with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The two games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service in the first place. However, this batch of games are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they were due initially — which makes them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
